So here's the heart of this project. Chad Bolles' had an offset ground 5.3L crank he was willing to part with. Con rod journals are sized for Ford 289 big end bearings. Balanced, of course.
The other vital pieces to this project are here: custom Crower rods on standard Chevy 6" centers, the Ford bib end bearings and standard Jaguar wrist pins. The boxes behind are standard Jaguar pistons that have been machined down and dished to compensate for the extra crank throw.
This is the unlikely recipient of all this work, a later-style, one-piece rear seal engine block. I plan for the finished product to look a little more appealing.
Here's the first pass at cleaning up the poor old engine. I used a pressure washer and several passes with a strong degreaser. I was surprised that the cam cover paint came off but plans are to powder coat some parts anyway.
